Original costumes and automaton prop from Hugo on display...

Martin Scorsese's new movie Hugo follows the adventures of an orphan boy, who lives in the walls of a 1930's Paris train station, and a mystery involving his late father and a mechanical automaton.

Three time Oscar-winner, Sandy Powell, is responsible for Costume Design on the movie and you can also see her work in The Tempest.

In addition to these fantastic costumes featured in the movie, they also had this fantastically detailed 'mechanical man' automaton and key props from the film on display in ArcLight Hollywood's cinema foyer on November 13, 2011.

Dick George Creatives, prop makers for the film and TV industry, were responsible for creating this magical automaton, with automata expert, collector and restorer, Michael Start, serving as art department advisor for Hugo.
I have to say, it was pretty cool to see this incredibly intricate prop up close.
